The Concern of the erstwhile his highness of Maharaja of Mysore for Women's education and "Women Empowerment" culminated in the establishment of the prestigious Maharani's College for Women', Mysore in the year 1917. The Maharani's Arts College library has to cater to the needs of the UG and PG students and is managed by sole Librarian. The Arts has two libraries one for the Arts undergraduate students, situated in the arts block as also a separate library for the postgraduate students in the Postgraduate block. The Arts College has a strength of 2766 Undergraduate students at present. As of now there are 1,09,967 books. The college library has more than 1,09,967 accessions pertaining to Humanities and various allied disciplines of personality development, Biographies philosophy, religion, literature (fiction and nonfiction of both English and Kannada languages)subject dictionaries, encyclopedias, News paper clipping articles, previous years Question papers and all kinds of objective (Question Bank) books on individual subject for competitive examinations books are also made available to the students and staff. Along with these books, Book Bank for SC/ST students and General Textbook Bank for others have been established.
